OBEDIENCE TO GOD's WORD

In every word God has been speaking to us, how many have we obeyed? God has been speaking to us but we are not ready to obey His voice. When God spoke to Noah and said ''The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopherwood, make rooms in the ark and cover it inside and outside with pitch'' - Genesis 6 : 13 - 14.

Noah did not look at the physical circumstances surrounding him where it seldom rain but instead he started the great project of the ark construction. Imagine the laugh and critics he might have received from his close friends. When God speaks, the physical circumstances does not matter because the key of life is in His hand. When God speaks, what people are saying is not important. Noah did not doubt God because when you work with God, He will give you the courage you need to stand firm with Him so that you cannot listen to the noise which is being emitted from your environment.

When God spoke to Abram, ''Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation, I will bless you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him who curses you and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed'' - Genesis 12 : 1 - 3.

''So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him and Lot went with him and Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son and all their possessions that they had gathered and the people whom they had acquired in Haran and they departed to go to the land of Cannan. So they came to the land of Cannan''- Genesis 12 : 4 - 5.

Brethren, let's be realistic, how many people today God will speak to that he should leave his father's house at seventy-five years old that will not fast and pray to see if what God has said is real or false? It is not bad to fast and pray over anything but what I am saying is that instead of obeying the voice of God, we are thinking about our physical confortability and thereby using doubt as an instrument of disobedience. If Noah did not obey God when He spoke to him, will he and his family have been saved from the flood? The answer is NO same with Abram. The power of God from the begining is the same today. The problem we are having today is that many of us believe on what we see physically more than the word of God. The problem is not God but rather man.

If the government can use ''Global positioning system'' to locate anywhere one make a call with his mobile telephone, what do we think about God. The Almighty God does not need the worldly Global positioning system to locate us before He can speak to us because He has already created us in His own image so that He can use us whenever He want to. Why do we doubt God when He speak to us? Yes we need to confirm if He is the One that is speaking or if our conscience or even the devil. But at times after the confirmation, we are still in doubt because we fill that God is the author of confussion. ''For God is not the author of confussion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints'' - 1 Corinthians 14 : 33. Because He did not speak to me with the way He spoke to the other brother, He is not the one that has spoken to me. Let us be obedient and stop confusing ourselves.

If we write a book and we come accross those words we use in our book, can't we recognise it that it is our words? Also anywhere we go, God will always know where we are without the worldly Global positioning system.

Father Lord, I thank You for the wisdom You gave me to write this and I pray that whenever You speak to us, give us the courage we need to obey Your word, overcome the spirit of doubt and give us a listening ear to hear Your voice when You speak in Jesus name.

BENEFITS FOR SERVING GOD

And it came to pass after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year saying, go, present yourself to Ahab and I will send rain on the earth. So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab and there was a severe famine in Samaria - 1 Kings 18 : 1 - 2. 

When we serve God with all our heart, He will be moved and make us a celebrity. People are bound to fear you because you are not alone. God has put fear in you so that when the enemy see you they will be afraid of you.

Now as Obadiah was on his way, suddenly Elijah met him and he recognised him and fell on his face and said, is that you, my lord Elijah? And he answered him, it is I. Go, tell your master, Elijah is here. So he said, how have I sinned, that you are delivering your servant into the hand of Ahab, to kill me? As the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my master has not sent someone to hunt for you and when they said, he is not here, he took an oath from the kingdom or nation that they could not find you. And now, you say, go tell your master, Elijah is here - 1 Kings 18 : 7 - 11.

And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you, that the Spirit of the Lord will carry you to a place I do not know, so when I go and tell Ahab and he cannot find you, he will kill me. But I your servant have feared the Lord from my youth.Was it not reported to my lord what I did when Jezebel killed the prophets of the Lord, how I hid one hundred men of the Lord's prophets, fifty to a cave and fed them with bread and water? - 1 Kings 18 : 12 - 13.

When you know whom is with you, you will be bold to go and speak to whom ever He instructed you to speak to. Kings will honor you and obey your command. It doesn't matter the level of the person He sent you to in the society. All you need to do is obey the instruction.

And now you say, go, tell your master, Elijah is here. He will kill me.Then Elijah said, As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely present myself to him today. So Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him and Ahab went to meet Elijah. Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, is that you, O troubler of Israel? And He answered, I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father's house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed Baals.                                 - 1  Kings 18 14 - 18..

Elijah was not afraid to speak to king Ahab because he knew who sent him the message. That is how we should be. We should be bold because the bible says fear not. Elijah told the servant that he was ready to present himself to Ahab.

Now therefore, send and gather all Israel to me on Mount Carmel, the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table. - 1 Kings 18 : 19

What a mighty God we serve who is never ready to bring us down. We should serve Him with all our mind so that He can fulfil that which He has promised.

Father Lord, I thank You for  the opportunity You gave me to know You. Open my spiritual understanding to know You more in the midst of trials in Jesus name.

BIBLE VERSES ABOUT HUMILITY

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, I need to be baptized by You and are You coming to me - Matthew 3 : 13 - 14.

The bible says that Jesus came to John. He did not say because He is the Son of God then let Him send for John to come and baptize Him in His own house. Brethren, when we do anything with humility, we will always find things more easier. We should try to always put on that coat of humility. On the other hand, John also displayed that character of humility because the bible says he tried to prevent Him.

But Jesus answered and said to him, permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he allowed Him - Matthew 3 : 15.

Jesus did not say to John, didn't you know that He is the Son of God? But instead of pride, humility. His words was very polite. How many of us today will be in such a position that will act with such humility? With pride, one cannot fulfill his purpose.

The humble He guides in Justice and the humble He teaches His way - Psalm 25 : 9.

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble - 1 Peter 1 : 5.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many - Mark 10 : 45.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God. But made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a boundservant and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross - Philippians 2 : 5 - 8.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land -                        2 Chronicles 7 : 14.

For You will save the humble people, but will bring down haughty looks - Psalm 18 : 27.

When pride comes, then comes shame, but with the humble is wisdom - Proverbs 11 : 2.

Father, I thank You for giving us the opportunity to become parents again by blessing us with a beautiful baby girl. May your name be exalted and lifted high above all names in Jesus name.
